Weight Management: What is GLP-1 therapy ?
GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone your body makes to help regulate blood sugar + appetite.
In simplified terms, GLP-1 therapies:
-
-
Slow down stomach emptying → you feel fuller longer.
-
Reduce appetite signals to your brain.
-
Help insulin work better and support metabolic health.
-
Originally developed for type 2 diabetes; later repurposed for weight management.
Typical outcomes: some medications in this class show significant weight loss—often well beyond what dieting/exercise alone achieve.

Consultation: You’ll meet with a provider (virtually) who reviews your health background, weight history, goals, and determines if GLP-1 therapy could benefit you.
Medication plan: If approved, the provider will map out: starting dose, titration plan (especially to reduce side-effects), lifestyle support (nutrition, exercise).
Ongoing monitoring: Because of how these medications work (and potential side-effects), follow-ups are key.
Support tools: We offer a free “Cheatsheet” that contains helpful information and tools you can download to track your progress
