Weight Management: What is GLP-1 therapy ?

GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone your body makes to help regulate blood sugar + appetite.

In simplified terms, GLP-1 therapies:

    • Slow down stomach emptying → you feel fuller longer.

    • Reduce appetite signals to your brain.

    • Help insulin work better and support metabolic health.

Originally developed for type 2 diabetes; later repurposed for weight management.

Typical outcomes: some medications in this class show significant weight loss—often well beyond what dieting/exercise alone achieve.

What to expect on this journey

  • Consultation: You’ll meet with a provider (virtually) who reviews your health background, weight history, goals, and determines if GLP-1 therapy could benefit you.

  • Medication plan: If approved, the provider will map out: starting dose, titration plan (especially to reduce side-effects), lifestyle support (nutrition, exercise).

  • Ongoing monitoring: Because of how these medications work (and potential side-effects), follow-ups are key.

  • Support tools: We offer a free “Cheatsheet” that contains helpful information and tools you can download to track your progress

Refill Questionairre

Hi there! Looks like you are ready for a refill. To make sure we are treating you safely, please answer the following questions. Answering ALL of the questions will help us facilitate your refill faster than an incomplete check-in.
Consider the next dose if you have not lost weight, have been hungry before day 7 and tolerated your current dose without side effects. Again, decide based on your appetite suppression, and stay on the lowest effective dose as long as possible. More is not always necessarily better in this case.
