Are STD and STI the same thing?
They are often used together in patient-facing language. STI means sexually transmitted infection; STD means sexually transmitted disease.
Can I get treatment without testing?
Sometimes testing, in-person evaluation, or follow-up is needed before treatment decisions. A provider reviews your symptoms, exposure timing, and health history before recommending next steps.
Are prescriptions guaranteed?
No. A provider reviews symptoms, exposure history, and clinical fit before making treatment recommendations. Prescriptions are not guaranteed.
What symptoms need urgent care?
Severe pain, fever, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related concerns, severe rash, neurologic symptoms, or other serious symptoms may require urgent, emergency, or in-person care.
Can telehealth treat every STI?
No. Some infections, symptoms, exposures, or complications require testing, injection treatment, in-person evaluation, or specialist care.

Testing, treatment options, prescriptions, partner guidance, and referrals depend on provider review and clinical appropriateness. Some STI/STD concerns require in-person evaluation, urgent care, or emergency care.
